Yup, the little love has RSV, and we are home doing all we can to 'stay' home and not be admitted to the hospital!
My butterfly started sounding crudy late last week and it escalated over the weekend, so much so that we had to bring in the oxygen tanks from the garage, the nebulizer mask from under the sink and start using her g-tube to push the fluids that she wants absolutely no part in drinking through a sippy cup right now!(Boy did I call it when I said that g-tube needed to stay in one more winter!!) And first thing Monday morning, a trip to Dr. P's office confirmed RSV.
Last winter, Presley had just been home from the hospital a month or so before we started fighting all the winter cudies, so oxygen in her nose, breathing treatments and the pounding on her chest to break up congestion, was all something she was used to and didn't fight us one bit! HOWEVER, being without any thing like that for the last 9 months has made her an absolute stinker to deal with now!! I can't get over the fight she puts up when trying to give her a breathing treatment, I have to literally embrace her in a tight hold, her arms locked down, while she flails her feet and screams at me (Mike can't do it... he says it scares him to see her so mad). And because of her prying fingers, the oxygen tubing has had to be cemented on her face with horrible slabs of tape, rather than the nice clear tegaderm I used last year. We have seen quite the little hard headed fighter come out the last few days, she actually scowled and hit at one of her dolls when I tried to use it to console her. Big sigh! Please keep my little love in your prayers, I would like to hope we can succeed with her care at home so that a hospital stay isn't in our near future!!

Oh Presley, Addy did the same thing last year, hadn't been sick in 13 months then WHAM! We were in the hospital for about a month! Stay home and get better Presley!
oh I hate to hear that, you all are in my prayers. When you give her a breathing treatment can she eat a snack in her high chair while you turn on the nebulizer?....that is how W always got his treatments when he was younger for 2 years...killed 2 birds with one stone....feeding and breathing treatments:)...praying for things to get better soon
AWWWW, nothing I want to hear. Sending prayers so you stay home. I'm sure you're as good as the hospital. As long as Miss P doesn't decide to get any worse. Keep us posted PLEASE!!!!
