I am happy to report that Presley is doing very well. After 4 days of Rocephin shots, steroids and many breathing treatments, our little angel is on the mend. Not so happy to report that Jett has been very sick. We originally thought it was only an ear infection, however, after 3 days of antibiotics and his 102 fevers still persisting, I took him back Saturday morning for a recheck. Good thing I did, the poor little guy has Mono!! He, too, got a shot of Rocephin and some steroids and, hopefully, he will also feel better soon.
I am not going to lie and say that I am not feeling a bit overwhelmed, or that a call to my mother for some pity, has not been made, but what I will say is... Thank you Presley! Once again, I can thank this little butterfly for helping me to keep it real. It is JUST pneumonia, it is JUST mono! My babies are home, safe and warm and good health is on it's way!
I think of a funny story when I write that...
My friend Heather, who most of you probably know as 'Mommy to the Warrior Princess Zoey' and from her blog, what some of you may or may not know, is that this woman is a flippin' riot!! She makes me laugh so hard!! She might get mad at me for telling this story for the same fear that I have when I speak on this subject, that people may think we are insensitive to others or trivializing what others may be going through in their lives. I promise that is not the case, we are just two mamma's making light of this road we are traveling.
One day she took Zoey into the doctor for another appointment regarding her seizures. I believe it was smack dab in the midst of those hellacious months, and while waiting in the waiting room, she observed a mother holding her baby crying, the woman's husband was with her and he looked at Heather and very somberly shook his head and said... 'reflux'.
LOL!!!!!! Now believe me, I know, reflux SUCKS! Jett had it and was colicky the first 6 months, and at that time I thought it was the worst thing in the world! But now, I laugh hysterically every time I think of that story!! NOW, I can, thanks to Presley, a child who laid flat on her back for 7 months, enduring procedure after procedure, surgery after surgery, fighting for her life... not to mention, the recent struggles of some amazing friends, like, Zoey, Preslie in Utah, Reid, etc.,
YUP, this week we got some pneumonia and mono in the house... no biggie and no whining here, we're just buying stock in Rocephin and calling it a day!

Oh, I hate to hear that he has mono! You are right you guys are just getting slammed. Maybe I should take out some stock as well. Take care, and keep looking up.

Oh and you make me laugh as well and I could never be mad at you.You get me and my humor or lack there of in certain situations. You get me I get you and well, quite frankly we just need to live closer darn it.So happy that Miss Presley is better but oh, poor little man Jett.Keep your eyes on spring Kele ... it's coming.Seriously though, thank you for the gift of your friendship,it and the others that I have formed courtesy of blogging have been such a blessing. And thank you to these little ones who give us daily reminders on perspective.
Poor little guy, I hope my guy don't give it to me he was giving kisses Tuesday at school. If he does I don't know how to explain to my husband I got mono from kissing my boyfriend at school.LOL HA HA!:0) Praise GOD Presley is getting better. I'm with you all, ready for spring and boycotting snot and cough! Prayer for Jett. Love ya all!
Amazing what a different perspective can do to you :-) Your daughter is so cute and such a fighter!

I love the pictures of Presley's birthday! What a cutie pie with such FABulous shoes!!! And thanks for the story...that made me laugh.
I hate that Jett is as sick as he is with Mono and ear infections. I'm happy to hear Presley is doing better and will continue to pray for healing in your family. Isn't amazing how God grows us, your story is a true testimony of that. Love you guys.
my sweet, dear Kele...I just LOVE you girl! I always look forward to your posts, your pictures, your upadates! SOOOO glad Presley is on the mend, sorry about Jett...yucky mono...been thinking of all of the Giles a ton! We had enough these last 2 weeks, so we took off Saturday looking for spring...I will post about it later, but we needed to get out of this box we've been held up in since October. I have found a great place we should all meet one day (you guys, Needhams and us)...nice, warm, no crowds...beauty everywhere....lets keep focused on that day my friend!!!
Not offended in the least...that story is hilarious.
Big hugs to you and your poor little sickies. :(
Sorry to hear about the mono and pnuemonia... but I have to appreciate your thankfulness. Heather's blog has kept us grounded as well. When we are battling the latest virus, teething, etc. etc. etc. We remember that these things are all transitory and will pass us by. What a great post!!!
You are a jewel! I got reamed when I "trivialized" Emery's diabetes. I absolutely recognize the seriousness of it, but when you are in our community and see many things that are much harder, your perspective is different. I'm glad you already learned that one. You such a quick learner and Pres is a good teacher! Much love, Nicole
I hope everyone is starting to feel better!! :)
