Apparently, with all the time I spent basking in the sunny days this past week, I completely missed the boat on World Down syndrome Day, which was Saturday, March 21st.
Of course, I found some great posts on many of my friends blogs, but one of my favorites was the one my friend, Cheri posted. It was 21 quotes, from 21 people with Down syndrome, celebrating their 21st chromosome... however, my favorite quote out of all of them, was from Graham Sheldon, who said:
"I can get a lot of money if I sell my extra chromosome on eBay. I don't need it anymore."
That cracks me up, and made my day!!
I wanted to add my own favorite quote, not from someone with Ds, but from someone on the journey, as a mother of a person with Ds... in the very beginning, my friend, Heather shared a quote with me, that someone else had shared with her, in her time of need, it was...
'If I knew then, what I know now, I wouldn't have cried a single tear'
I can't begin to articulate to people just how true that is!
I love my extra-chromosome-sportin'-butterfly so stinkin' much it hurts!! And I feel like one of the lucky ones to have been chosen to be the mother of such pure joy. I don't expect everyone to understand that, and that is okay!!
But Presley Ann, you hear this:
"YOUR DADDY & I LOVE YOU SO INCREDIBLY MUCH, JUST AS YOU ARE!!! We feel sooooo lucky God picked us for you, and we wouldn't change one single thing about you!!"

That is so true. I look at Jax and I can't believe that I am getting the privledge of taking care of one of Gods pure angels. I'm loving every minute of it.
Amen!
That is so right...Heather always says the right thing, doesn't she, bless her heart! Looking back, I wish I didn't shed a tear, but now I am so grateful everyday for my journey with my Preslie, as well as you and yours, Heather and Zoey, Lacey and Jaxon and all the rest I have grown to love...we are so very blessed!
I agree Amen!
God has blessed me with your wonderful family, and giving the opportunity to help you out with your precious kiddo. I'm falling in love with each one of them. I love when I walk in to see their smiling faces. Jett saying "lella" with a smile, Mikah telling me she loves me and when I leave that she will miss me. And that sweet butterfly melts my heart every time I say something and she has the biggest smile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE THAT!!!!!!!! You and your family has came a long way in just a year. I'm proud of you and Mike to able to share you life with other families that is going through the same thing you all went through, you have found your ministry!!!!!
Your family is truly blessed!

I always love reading your posts Kele! You put everything in perfect perspective. And, you usually bring a tear to my eye! I am so glad that God chose you and Mike to be Presley's parents, and Mikah and Jett to be her siblings. You truly are the perfect family.
